Been daydreaming about your Miami bucket list and all the things you want to do this summer? You’re not alone! So why not check out all of those quintessential Miami nooks you’ve never had time to explore? Here are some must-do’s you should add to your Miami bucket list.
- Outdoor movie
- Wynwood Buggies Tour
- Shark Valley & Trails
- The Venetian Pool
- Private Boat Tour with Miami SpeedBoat Tours
1. Outdoor movie
Location: 500 17th Street, Miami Beach, FL 33139 (or your back yard!)
You don’t have to be a theater buff to appreciate a good open-air movie or a live concert! Spend an evening together as a family at one of the New World Symphony’s WALLCAST® movies or their live classical music performances. Admission is free, and the 7,000-square-foot projection wall in Soundscape Park offers a unique viewing experience that promises to be cooler than any other theater or drive-in you’ve ever been to. If you’re still hesitant to attend large gatherings due to the pandemic, you can still spice up your movie nights by shifting them from the couch to the backyard! Fire up the grill, hang a large white sheet, hook a projector up, and kick back for a fun movie under the stars. Don’t forget the candy and popcorn!
2. Wynwood Buggies Tour
Location: 591 NW 29th St #B, Miami, FL 33127
No Miami bucket list would be complete without Wynwood. If you’re looking for a way to get the whole family outdoors and get some fresh air, you’ve got to check out the Wynwood Arts District. This hip street gallery, located just north of downtown Miami, is full of colorful art pieces done by renowned graffiti and mural artists from around the world.
In addition to the incredible artwork that appears around every corner, Wynwood also has amazing restaurants, breweries, antique shops, and cafés! Because of how expansive Wynwood is, one of the best ways to “see and do it all” is to take one of their buggy tours, perfect for a date, family outing, or Friday night out with friends. While walking around Wynwood is certainly an option, your feet will thank you for taking the buggies! A favorite of not only tourists but also locals, Wynwood belongs at the very top of your Miami bucket list (right after Miami Speedboat Tours, of course!).
3. Shark Valley & Trails
Location: 36000 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33194
Price: Cost varies depending on the mode of transportation and age. View entrance fees and tram tour rates.
Consider yourself an adrenaline junkie? Chances are, you’ve been dying to get out of the house and adventure a bit. If that’s you, Shark Valley needs to be on your Miami bucket list! Located in the heart of the Everglades, the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, Shark Valley is the best place to spend an afternoon riding your bike or taking one of the trams. With so much wildlife and nature to see, you’ll want to dedicate a whole day to Shark Valley. If you decide to explore this place on your own, proceed with caution: alligators like to venture out onto the trail!
4. The Venetian Pool
Location: 2701 de Soto Boulevard, Coral Gables, FL 33134
Price: Non-resident daily admission is $13 per adult and $8 for children ages three to 12. Coral Gables residents’ admission is $5.50 per adult and $4.50 per child.
Whether you’re in desperate need of a tan (thanks, quarantine) or are simply looking for a way to cool off, you’ve got to visit the Venetian Pool at Coral Gables. Built from a coral rock quarry in 1923, this beautiful Venetian pool is filled and emptied each day with 820,000 gallons of spring water from an underground aquifer. The Venetian Pool also has plenty of picturesque water features swimmers can enjoy including grottos, waterfalls, and a bridge.
5. Miami Private Boat Tour
Location: 4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140
Price: 1-2 people: $349, 3-6 people: $499
