Planning a fun trip not only occupies your time but gives you something to look forward to after the COVID-19 chaos. 2. Tackle your to-do list
Whether you’re working from home or have been under quarantine in Miami until you get results back from a coronavirus test, you may suddenly have extra time on your hands! Getting bored yet? Do all the things you never seem to have time for! Tackle a time-consuming project or check something off your to-do list that you’ve been putting off. Give that guest bedroom a makeover or organize your pantry. You could even sort through all those piles of paper clutter that have been gathering dust. If you want to see them survive the coronavirus outbreak, support them in whatever way you can, even if it’s just buying a gift card or liking/sharing their posts on social media. 4. Connect as a family
COVID-19 has made a lot of things difficult for adults, but it has also heavily affected kids. So try to find ways to help your children unwind and de-stress. Some things you could do together include:
- Playing board games
- Watching movies (or making a movie!)
- Learning a new skill
- Making a fort
- Getting to know each other better
- Reading or listening to audiobooks
- Playing a sport
- Doing science experiments
Additionally, while you don’t want to constantly talk about coronavirus, it’s important your kids know they can come and talk to you about their fears and concerns surrounding this illness. Talking it out as a family and sharing frustrations with one another is healthy and good during a time like this. So make sure your kids know it’s okay to share what’s going on in their hearts with you.
5. Get outside!
Just because you’re under quarantine in Miami doesn’t mean you have to stay indoors constantly. In fact, experts are recommending you find safe ways to spend time outdoors to get some fresh air and sunshine as a way of boosting both your mental and physical health! Thankfully, spring is here, so there are plenty of ways to enjoy nature while maintaining a safe distance from others. So go hiking or camping, watch a sunset, look at the stars, and get plenty of sunshine. Again, just remember to keep your distance from others and avoid public places where you could pick up germs and pass germs. Of course, be sure to also follow all of the CDC‘s and WHO‘s guidelines to keep both yourself and others healthy!
